First spray tan, or seasoned tanner? Either way check out our tips below to ensure you get the most out of your Moroccan Spray Tan at Stolen Moment Beauty this summer!
Our Moroccan Tan is a rapid developing tan and we suggest letting it set after application for 2 hours. During this time it’s important for you to not get wet – and this includes sweating! Most clients tend to book their appointments after work, so they can spend the night relaxing at home while their tan develops. If your spray tan is for an event, we suggesting book your appointment for 1-2 days before your special occasion.
Preparation is key: Day before your appointment
It’s important for all hair removal to be completed at least 8 – 24 hours before your spray tan. This should be followed by thoroughly exfoliating the skin to ensure your spray tan is absorbed evenly. We suggest you pay some extra attention when exfoliating any dry or dull areas of skin – such as your knees, elbows, hands and feet. Or for maximum results book an appointment to get: full body exfoliation treatment, rain shower and spray tan for $95 at Stolen Moment Beauty.
Day of your appointment
Do not wear any deodorant, moisturiser, perfume or makeup on your skin to your spray tan appointment. These products can create a barrier between your skin and the tan, resulting in the spray tan being unevenly absorbed. It’s also important to wear loose clothing to put on after your spray tan has been applied, as tight clothing may rub against your skin causing the tan to rub off or create patches.
After 2 hours (or 1.5 hours if you’re after a lighter look), enjoy a luke-warm shower with no soap to remove the excess tan by using the water only to rinse off your tan. You are ready to jump out and pat dry your skin once the shower water runs clear.
Caring for your new tan
Once you are out of the shower and you’re completely dry moisturise your skin at least twice daily this will keep the tan hydrated or try the Moroccan Tan Glow Extender + Gradual Tan to help prolong the life of your tan (retail stock available at Stolen Moment Beauty) .
Be sure to also apply sunscreen in this warm weather! Where possible, it’s also useful to avoid heavy exercise for at least 2 days post application as sweating may remove then tan sooner, as can chlorinated swimming pools, long baths and salt water.
